(Don’t Forget Scrubbing The White Walls!!)
What was your first motorcycle? I was about 8 or 9 years old,
my dad bought me and my brother a Honda 50. My brother was too
scared to ride it, but I rode it every day!
Is there a dream Motorcycle? To own my dad’s ultra classic one day
How long have you been riding? Since I was about 8. I hope to ride
forever and when my time is up, I’ve asked to have my urn of ashes put
in the saddlebag and rode around in spirit.
Have you ever went down and were you hurt? Dropped it a couple
of times at low speed and sitting still (sober and intoxicated).
Minor damage and no injury, by the grace of God.
What Riding training/classes have you taken? Taking the riding class through Lord Fairfax Community College and
“Ride Like a Pro” class given at Groves Harley Davidson
Do you ride to work? Sometimes I do, but I leave in the morning at 5am and it’s dark and I have a hard time mentally
getting it in gear to think that hard and dodge the deer.
Do you ride year round? If the temperature is above 50, I’ll be on it.
Do you two-up anyone? Only Texas style on my bike and if I ever have to ride a girl on the back, she has to carry a sign
that says, “we like men" !!
Do you wrench your own bike? No
Do you have anyone you prefer/recommend to do service on your bike? I use Skip’s Cycle Shop in Winchester, VA.
Ask for Scott or Tracy. I love those guys. They are honest, hardworking guys that know their stuff. They treat you right and
are fair on pricing. Tell them Sissy sent you. I’ve spent so much money in there we are best buds. Ha!
Where is the furthest trip you have made? Virginia Beach, VA
Where is your next big trip planned? I’m am hoping Tennessee. I need cowgirl boots and that’s the place to get ‘em.
Any takers?
Where is your favorite place to ride? I think the Blue Ridge Parkway is awesome. It is good for the heart and soul. If I
come up missing, that’s where you’ll find me. What a way to clear the mind.
What types of roads do you like riding? Any road that doesn’t have water or gravel on it!
What was your worst ride and why? Is there such a thing? It’s all good, even if it’s not perfect and you learn something
from it, it’s all good.
What was your best ride and why? My most recent ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was an incredible ride and day.
The riding company and the weather could not have been more perfect.
What rallies and events do you like to attend? SCRC State Rally. Any group rides with Star City has always proven to
be a great event and fun time. (I love you guys at Star City)
You & Your Bike:

What hobbies or interests, other than riding? Canoeing, Darts, Weight lifting
What's your worst/best memory of high school and why? I always hated the “first” day of school, because of
the end of summer and getting back to reality.
What was your favorite pet you had as a child and why? Snowball (an albino Hamster). Had this hamster for a
couple of years plus. It was very tame and would eat pizza!
What is the most rewarding experience you have had and what made it so? Purchasing my own home after
divorce. Felt as though I had rebuilt my life and came back stronger mentally/emotionally. My son’s were the driving
force behind me!
What is the best thing that has ever happened to you? I guess all mom’s say this, but my two boys are my life
and I couldn’t be more proud to be their mom. They are Awesome young men and our relationship is very unique. Not
like one you normally see between a mom and her sons. I value every single second that I have with them.
What is the most embarrassing moment of your life? There is not enough time or paper here!!
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be? I’d love to take a week and ride the bike out west
toward the Dakotas, Nebraska or Colorado. I would want to stay in the United States.
If you had the chance to go back in time for 24 hours, where and when would you go? There are probably
several times in my life I’d like to go back to and redo, but the past has made me who I am today. I live by the old saying,
“You can’t go back.”
If you knew today was your last day on Earth, how would you spend it? I’d definitely want to be around family and
friends, but I’d want to go out in a blaze of glory. Spending my last day having fun, laughing and sharing memories. I’d
want those who I love to know it. I’d also want to tell anyone that I did wrong or hurt that I was sorry. I would want to
make sure I had taken care of any emotional unfinished business. We never know when our last breath will be, and I’m a
believer you have to let people know you love them when you have the chance and live life without regrets!
Who or what inspires you and why? My Dad is my inspiration. He is gentle and quiet soul, but a strong man. He
comes through when I need him without judgment or criticism. He knows I’m not perfect, and loves me for who I am. I’ve
seen him through the years give of himself to others without conditions or expectations.
If you had one word to describe yourself, what would it be? Selfless

You & SCRC:

How did you hear about Southern Cruisers?
Chris Geraghty, Doo-Rite, Apple Valley
When did you join SCRC? Rejoined recently: July 27th, 2010 with Star City Chapter 32
Why did you join SCRC? The friendships and good times.
What have you found to be the most rewarding as an SCRC member? The people you ride with
become more like a second family to you. I have always had a special place in my heart for Star City and
couldn’t be more excited about becoming a member of your chapter.
Have you ridden with an organized group before? No
How did you earn your road name? Listening to the song “Slow Ride” by Foghat in the car one day and it
just hit me that was the name of choice.
What advice would you give to a new rider or someone contemplating becoming a rider?
Practice to build your skill level before going out on major roads. You have to drive defensively, which is
sometimes hard to do when you get lost in thought on long rides. Ride, ride, ride...don’t let that bike sit and
collect dust. The place that riding takes you mentally cannot be explained. Only someone who has ridden the
open roads can truly understand. And get a tattoo!
In your own words: I’m a low-key type of girl without complexity. I love to ride the bike and always have. I’d
almost say it’s an addiction for me. I can’t even begin to explain the mental place that riding takes my mind. It
empowers me, but also settles my soul. I think I’m happiest when the road is open, the sky is full of color and
sunshine, and I’m on two wheels and able to take it all in. I’ve met some awesome people when out riding and
making stops. It’s an unspoken camaraderie with bikers and a lifetime of incredible memories.
Now you know a little about Sissy....Awesome!
